In this position a Tool & Die Machinist will: Conform to all safety and environmental requirements.
Competent in use and operation of the following: shears, punches, tinners tools, riveting press, power and hand brakes and rolls, acetylene, arc, mig, and tig welding equipment, flame and plasma cutting equipment, power burning equipment, power saws, portable and pedestal drills, portable and pedestal grinders, pantograph, winches, chain block, clamps, crane operation, dollies, fork lifts, man lifts, etc.
Receive work assignments, written or verbal, from manager. May lead and/or direct other personnel in performance of job assignments. Assist with crafts as directed.
Fabricate, install, or remodel heating/ventilation/air conditioning, duct work and housings.
Must be qualified under position "6G" on both carbon and stainless steel in accordance with Section IX of ASME code.
Layout from drawings, prints, or sketches and fabricate, erect, and weld structural steel, cranes, tanks, lines, bins, gear teeth, shafts, flywheels and similar parts subject to pressure, vacuum, or extreme stress, making proper allowances for expansion and contraction.
Make templates and improvised fixtures. Perform bending, forming, cutting, silver soldering, welding, etc., as job requires.
Move material, equipment, and supplies required to perform job function.
Maintain records and inventories, manually or electronically, such as daily time, parts, material inventory, consumables. Report material shortages as needed to Manager.
Clear right-of-way as required, such as removal of abandoned pipe, conduit, wires, insulation, etc.
Lubricate job related equipment as necessary. Change flat tires as needed.
Keep tools, equipment and work area in clean and orderly condition. Remove all job-related scrap and excess materials.
Minimum Requirements The successful candidate for this position must meet one of the following: Journeypersons card, recognized in Pennsylvania Associates degree with greater than 3 years of experience Relevant US military experience in machining
