Shift Details: FT or PT available – 2-5 shifts per week

Schedule: Days: 2pm to 10:30pm or Overnights: 10pm to 8amCompensation: $18.50/hrPotential for wage increases every six months with positive performance.

About the job:Avanti Center for Girls offers a continuum of shelter, evaluation, and residential treatment services. As a Residential Counselor, you will make a measurable difference in demonstrating and equipping the girls with tools, skills, and hope.

Essentials:

  • Promote and assist in the development of a wholesome and therapeutic environment

  • Support and implement individual treatment plans and programs

  • Plan and participate in all recreational and educational programming for residents

  • Provides life skills training and management as directed by the needs of the program participants

  • Provide medication administration to residents

  • Work within and support the agency's treatment philosophy

  • When required, drive a program participant to events in the organization's van

  • Observe, report, and document information regarding resident behaviors and actions

  • Create a safe, therapeutic atmosphere on the unit

  • Well-being checks performed at least every 15 minutes or as designated

  • Respond appropriately, as prescribed by program, to crisis situations as they occur

  • Must be able to work regularly scheduled working hours and overtime when needed

  • Strong emotional intelligence and resiliency

  • Compassion for individuals dealing with mental health concerns

Required Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • A current and valid Driver's license with minimal violations on record

  • Experience with adolescents in residential/hospital setting preferred

  • Must pass criminal background checks

  • Strong desire to work with children and adolescents experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or chemical health concerns
