We are seeking someone to join First International Bank & Trust as our Information Security Analyst Intern. In this role you will assist our Information Security Team with a variety of different tasks related to Vulnerability Management & Compliance, Security Awareness, Monitoring & Incident Response, Log Analysis, and Data Security/Governance. You'll also have the opportunity to enhance your expertise through comprehensive training programs, as well as specialized courses focused on our advanced cybersecurity tool stack. The ideal candidate for this position would be a student passionate about information security and is willing to work meaningful hours during the school year and potentially more during the summer.
This Internship would be In-Person in our Bismarck, ND Branch.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in identifying and mitigating potential security risks by conducting vulnerability scans and assessments within the organization.
Assist in incident response activities by monitoring/analyzing log data and responding to security alerts from across the organization.
Assist in data security and governance objectives within the organization.
Assist in developing or updating security awareness materials to help educate employees on security best practices and promoting a culture of security consciousness within the organization.
Assist in measuring compliance against various cybersecurity frameworks/benchmarks and compliance regulations.
Qualifications:
A student currently enrolled in an accredited university or collegiate program applicable to the information security field.
Basic understanding of information security principles, knowledge of security tools, and a willingness to learn and contribute to a dynamic security environment.
Students should showcase a combination of academic knowledge, technical skills, and interpersonal abilities to contribute effectively to the security team's objectives.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks/regulations, security operations concepts and tools are preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills is preferred.
