Job Details:

Associate is under the direction of the clinic supervisor/director. Collaborates with medical records and other registration/scheduling departments. The associate performs a variety of business office and reception duties accurately and with minimal supervision. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: answering and routing phone calls in accordance with practice policies; scheduling patient appointments; greeting and registering patients; collecting, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information; gathering and coding charge information. Observes strict patient confidentiality in dealing with callers and with face to face patient interactions. Required Education (for CHI Leadership Job Levels from Supervisor through President) Does Not Apply Required Education for Staff Job Levels High School diploma or equivalent Required Minimum Experience Computer use and business related phone experience Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge of medical office procedures 2. Ability to examine documents for accuracy and completeness 3. Ability to process patients and public inquiries with poise and efficiency 4. Ability to recognize, evaluate and resolve problems. 5. Basic computer data entry, filing, spelling, telephone etiquette skills. 6. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks 7. Able to work under pressure 8. Maintain a pleasant personality and speaking voice when speaking to patients and team members 9. Ability to effectively respond to dissatisfied customers 10. Maintain a positive and professional manner at all times 11. Responsible for oral and written communication in an accurate, clear and concise manner to patients and team members PREFERRED Education and/or Experience Prefer a minimum of one year office/secretarial experience in a medical facility. Computer skills, knowledge of medical terminology and scheduling practices is required.
