Education: High school student, graduate or equivalent. Licensure: Must be listed on a Nurse Assistant Registry operated by the North Dakota Board of Nursing, State Department and Consolidated Laboratories by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. If not on a registry, then must obtain placement on one immediately following Orientation and training by St. Alexius Medical Center as stated in the policy "Eligibility for Employment as Nurse Assistant". Experience: No previous experience necessary. Preferred hospital experience, aide experience or satisfactory completion of certification/training program. Skills: Good communication skills are necessary because of the constant communication, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, and medical center staff. Accountable for own conduct and promotes and supports positive working relationships among staff, between other disciplines, departments, families, visitors and patients. Maintains confidentiality. Physical Effort: 35 lbs light medium work level with floor to waist lifting. 50 lbs medium work level with knee to waist lifting. Hours of Work: Rotating shift work or straight evenings or nights. Rotating holidays and weekends may be required. Other: Works under the following conditions: potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical and infectious environmental hazards.
