What you’ll be doing

  1. Supports the delivery of routine daily activities and is accountable for system design, build, testing, validation, maintenance, and ongoing support of all network infrastructure components.

  2. Assists the implementation of enhanced network technology that aligns to customers' strategic direction for enterprise and remote site connectivity.

  3. Follows standards for global network infrastructure, including wireless, LAN and SD-WAN networks and connectivity.

  4. Supports the installation, testing, and setup of new network hardware both physical and virtual (firewalls, routers, switching, monitoring) hardware and software.

  5. Executes engineering efforts to ensue currency and supportability of networking technology.

  6. Collates data, reports and information supporting technology lifecycle planning, including contributing to the development of the technology roadmaps and Network Health Assessments.

  7. Organises material and data for documentation, knowledge transfer and training to successfully land new solutions into the support organisation.

  8. Undertakes activities that contribute to the implementation of core and cloud infrastructure security to manage risks and exposure.

  9. Supports in the implementation of ways to improve working processes within Network Engineering.

You will be Implementing flawless change, providing technical resolution and constantly learning, allowing resource flexibility across the unit to meet demand requirements & deliver “Brilliant” customer experience.

You will champion and build effective working relationships, both internally and externally to deliver business outcomes, adding value throughout. You will ultimately be responsible for the change execution and assurance of IP Networks platforms managed by Network Engineering Technical Services. You will also drive the publicity of the team through your contribution as a technically talented expert, challenging and supporting those around you to be accountable and perform at their best

What I’ll be doing – your accountabilities

  • Review, test and fault new network topologies or components throughout the development project bringing in companion teams (within BT and Vendor space) when appropriate.

  • Lead network change using deployment and incident management processes. Participate and be the technical lead on incidents within immediate domain and be part of PIR write up and solution.

  • Propose and implement innovations for continuous improvement within immediate area.

  • Executing the implementation of complex change in line with change management best practices and the associated governance.

  • Providing 365x24/7 operational support for faults that span a range of platform domains i.e. out of hours change and callout

  • Managing stakeholder and demand expectations through cross area engagement

  • Developing technical capability through continued learning and use of Tech Pathways

  • Will champion and build effective working relationships, both internally and externally to deliver business outcomes, adding value throughout. Responsible for delivering the change execution and assurance of IP network platforms managed by network engineering technology services.

Skills required for the job

  • You will be fully conversant and comply with Change Management processes and the supporting governance.

  • You will be confident and professional in communicating with all stakeholders, both locally and with members of the Senior Management Team.

  • You will have extensive experience of network technologies and protocols within your native domain

  • You will have awareness of the E2E service journey

  • You will be able to adapt to emerging and evolving technologies, in line with Technology Career Map - [Network engineer/teste Professional]
