About the opportunity

Our Water and Environment operating unit provides a focus for advising our clients on the development of water projects using engineering analysis and design expertise to drive innovation and excellence in everything we do. Our mission is to be a global leader that puts water at the heart of a sustainable society.

To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for experienced Clean Water Modellers to join our multi-disciplinary team working for multiple clients on all aspects of potable infrastructure from feasibility assessment and optioneering to operational support, optimisation and smart networks.

It is intended that this post will be based in Birmingham, and we encourage applications from candidates seeking flexible working, job share or reduced hours’ contracts.

About You:

  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to help deliver projects within agreed timeframes and budgets and to exceed our clients’ expectations

  • Deliver and lead on a wide variety of projects such as water trading, large capital design, water quality and network optimisation

  • You will be a motivated and innovative person who embraces new technologies. We will support you to convert your innovative ideas into practical solutions that tackle the challenges facing the water industry

  • You will mentor junior engineers and assist the growth of our water team. We will support and encourage you to raise our and your own profile across the wider industry

  • Maintain strong and collaborative working relationships and interactions with the client

  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement by providing technical guidance and support to other members of the team

  • Passion for taking on new challenges with clients in the water industry

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Strong knowledge and experience in the operation of clean water networks and modelling, and able to work autonomously in the delivery of different types of projects. Knowledge and experience in leakage management will be a plus.

  • You solve problems by developing and adopting innovative approaches and using both data analysis and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate project findings skilfully and clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Excellent presentation and written skills. Able to prepare technical reports and deliverables, ensuring quality of modelling outputs and compliance with standards, specifications and governance requirements.

  • Chartered with a professional institution or working toward Chartered status
