Hoar Construction MEPF Construction Superintendent in Birmingham, Alabama

The MEPF Superintendent at the MPT Project is responsible to support the Project Superintendent in overseeing the MEPF areas of construction.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads last planner meetings, and coordinates project layout with trade partners utilizing BIM

  • Coordinate MEPF trades between the Garage, Office, and Amenity Wings for the flow of work and logistics

  • Coordinates MEPF trades and others (Raised Access Flooring) for the flow of work and logistics (MEPF installed in Raised Access Flooring)

  • Leads OAC meetings relative to the MEPF scopes of work

  • Leads Safety Meetings and Inspections

  • Leads Trade Partner Progress Meetings

  • Determines that construction meet required specifications

  • Manages inspection and required testing of work and equipment to verify quality, safety, and commissioning. Commissioning will include: Building Systems; Systems Monitoring; Systems Functional Performance Testing;

  • Manages to track and meet project specific LEED and Sustainability requirements

  • Updates Quality Assurance Program Requirements via Procore

  • Updates Safety Documents on Procore

  • Leads BIM coordination meetings in conjunction with VDC team

  • Manages BIM clash detection to ensure 3D model is coordinated

  • Reviews trade partner billing monthly for MEPF Trade Partners

  • Assists in Updating Schedule Progress

  • Oversees elevator installation and inspections

  • Coordinates Master Systems Integration coordination with owner prior to turnover

  • Generates punch and commissioning list prior to turnover

  • Identifies and eliminates constraints related to commissioning milestones

  • Works to document Owner / Systems Trainings as required by specifications

  • Works to assist in the Project Close-out Progress (emphasis on LEED and Sustainability)

Preferred Requirements:

· Bachelor's Degree in Building Science, Construction Mgmt, Mechanical Engineering or related field

· 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry working with commercial and/or industrial projects

· In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing techniques

· Working knowledge of laws and regulations governing large construction projects and in-depth knowledge of building codes

· Knowledge of construction documents and processes and a wide range of construction materials, methods, techniques and concepts

· Knowledge of industry and manufacturer’s standards and installation requirements

· Advanced knowledge of principles and best practices of building envelope systems

· Proficient in MS Office

· Valid Driver's License Required
