Summary

Spire is seeking a Manager, Quality Assurance to oversee development and standardization of Quality Assurance Practices within the application shared services team. This role will be primarily responsible for oversight and direction for a team of application analysts to build and standardize end to end testing processes that will enhance and build-in quality across the core application landscape.

Duties and Responsibilities

Standardize process flows to enable building quality and testing practices into development team

Oversee refinement of testing process and standards, both manual and automated

Accountable for Automation testing development of regression workflows

Lead quality assurance team in translating business requirements to test cases and test scripts

Maintain alignment with overall Product vision and roadmap to ensure capacity and resources support needs of development teams

Close knowledge gaps and build highly skilled resource pools to support core technology solutions by enabling training and building strategic development plans

Maintain collaborative partnership with leaders, as well as peers, to ensure timely resolution of pending issues, team performance is monitored, and objectives are realized

Partner effectively with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to isolate any team level performance concerns, create remediation plans, and attend team ceremonies as needed to stay connected

Set measurable performance objectives annually with a focus on career pathing and opportunities for individuals

Lead by example, provide motivation to team members, and instill accountability

Provide ample support as needed to ensure tools and resources are provided to team to be successful

Essential Characteristics and Competencies

Understand gaps and application team needs to enable team members to support continuous delivery of new enhancements

Solid understanding of software development life cycles

Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct supervision of large team of technical and analyst resources

Required Education (certifications, licenses)

​Bachelor's degree in related field

SAFe certification(s) a plus

Required knowledge, skill and abilities

Strong understanding of SQA methodologies

Solid understanding of testing tools and software (i.e. QA Complete, Jenkins, Gitlab)

Experience in the fundamentals of iterative and incremental development

5+ years’ experience working on cross-functional, cross-geographical integrated systems and projects

5-8 years of related work experience playing an active leadership role in technology delivery and business analyst

Minimum 3 years in people leadership position

Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and other Agile Methodologies

Understanding of enterprise applications, functionality, and end to end processes, preferred but not required, in specialized application support stream (i.e Customer Facing or Internal Core Apps)

Physical demands, environment and schedule

Hybrid Remote/Office environment

Work performed primarily during business hours, with off-hours support required at times

Some Travel may be required as ITS and teams are disparate across locations (primarily St. Louis and Birmingham)
