Description We are looking for a Collections Specialist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role is critical in managing overdue accounts and ensuring timely payments from our clients. You will be tasked with contacting customers with outstanding invoices, maintaining customer relations, and utilizing various software systems to keep track of payments and collections. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor overdue accounts across various locations

• Contact customers to negotiate payment plans and follow up on outstanding invoices

• Handle customer relations with a focus on maintaining long-term relationships

• Utilize accounting software systems for accurate record keeping and tracking of payments and collections

• Perform regular updates and inputs into the E-automate system

• Work collaboratively with other team members to meet collection targets

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and reporting

• Implement effective billing functions to ensure timely payments

• Maintain professionalism and good phone skills during customer interactions

• Adhere to all company policies and regulations regarding collections processes. Requirements • Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems to manage financial data

• Skilled in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting

• Experience in handling Billing Functions, including invoicing and payment processing

• Knowledge of Collection Processes, including debt recovery and negotiation

• Previous role as a Collector will be beneficial

• Understanding of Credit assessment and management

• Strong Customer Service skills for effective interaction with clients and team members
