Job Title: Shipping and Receiving Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping and Receiving Specialist to ensure all products scheduled for shipment are coordinated, properly documented, and safely secured for transport. The ideal candidate will consistently supply products and services of the highest quality to achieve total customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Coordinate the shipment of products within specified timeframes.
Ensure all shipping documentation such as bill of lading and packing slips are accurate.
Verify quantities and customer requirements for transport and packaging.
Fill out various shipping forms and documents.
Confirm shipments in the computer system and maintain backorders.
Prepare a list of deliveries for trucks.
Consult with Managers and Supervisors to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Ensure all documents and forms are available when checking the backorder list.
Inspect and receive incoming material and products from subcontractors, vendors, and platers.
Handle rejects regarding parts from subcontractors, vendors, and platers and seek approval for non-conformances.
Enter receiving data into the computer network.
Perform physical counts of parts as required before shipping and upon receipt.
Essential Skills
Experience in shipping and receiving operations.
Proficiency in using a computer, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to perform physical tasks such as wrapping pallets, moving skids, and lifting boxes.
Attention to detail.
High physical stamina.
Familiarity with warehouse inventory and packaging.
Experience with forklifts and pallet jacks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience or exposure to supply chain management.
Forklift experience (licensing provided on-site).
Ability to lift 30-40 lbs regularly.
Detail-oriented.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Team player attitude.

Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. You will frequently be required to walk, stand, bend, squat, and move continuously throughout your shift. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Binghamton, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
