Budget Title: Staff Associate (SL-4)
Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
Binghamton University seeks an experienced professional for the position of Senior Associate Director for Undergraduate Recruitment. This individual will be committed to data-driven recruitment strategies and will help to oversee first-year and transfer recruitment for the office of undergraduate admissions, including but not limited to: maintaining, evaluating, and developing best practices for admissions policies and procedures throughout the application cycle; providing information, supervision, training, and guidance to territory managers; establishing recruitment goals; and developing a strategy to help reach enrollment targets from recruitment through enrollment.
The Senior Associate Director will:
Assist the director of recruitment in establishing recruitment goals and building and maintaining a portfolio of contacts in strategically identified markets
Work with the director of recruitment to develop, shape, implement, and communicate the comprehensive strategy for the University's undergraduate admissions initiatives
Track inquiries, applications, and deposits in all domestic territories and develop strategies and initiatives to increase applications in key markets and break into new markets
Develop and implement data-driven out-of-state recruitment strategy to maximize impact in existing markets and to identify promising new markets
Develop a travel strategy, manage a travel budget, and measuring return-on-investment
Oversee application review and successful meeting of timeline for releasing decisions
Oversee hiring and training of new staff and external readers
Develop communication plans
Effectively present to large groups of prospective students and families
Travel to key markets as needed
Assess current activities and make recommendations to the director of recruitment regarding the value of all recruitment and yield activities
Maintain awareness of new trends, opportunities, and creative strategies
Supervise recruitment staff
Maintain and develop relationships with key offices on campus (including Alumni Relations, Communications & Marketing, etc.)
Serve on appropriate committees and task forces dealing with undergraduate admissions
Develop a public presence for Binghamton in admissions counselor and school counseling committees and associations
Plan and manage an extensive events plan including budgets, contracts, planning and implementation of counselor events, yield events, junior nights and alumni partnership events
Job Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of seven to ten years of progressive professional experience in admissions
Proven track record of success including breaking into new markets and relationship-building
Demonstrated ability to present effectively to both large and small groups
Previous supervisory experience managing professional and student staff
Strong communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, educational administrators, and other interested constituents
Knowledge of best practices in student recruitment
Demonstrated ability to leverage technology
Demonstrated ability to evaluate applications and provide direction to others on a wide range of matters related to admissions and enrollment
Experience managing budgets
Ability to meet aggressive deadlines while managing multiple priorities
Demonstrated commitment to data-driven decision-making, including effective analytical skills and proven results in achieving objectives and goals
For extensive travel purposes, a valid US driver's license and driving experience
Valid passport, or ability to obtain a valid passport, to travel to international markets as needed
Preferred:
Master's degree
Professional experience in admissions enrollment and/or student recruitment
Experience with Banner and a CRM system (Slate preferred)
