Electrical Engineer I - Simulation & Training (On-site)

Position Description:

The Simulation and Training Solutions group is looking to add an entry-level Electrical Engineering professional to be a part of the development, modification, integration, and test of flight and ground vehicle training simulators. Devices range in complexity from simple desktop trainers to high-fidelity, full-flight training systems. Work includes both clean-sheet and design reuse. Devices are a composite of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) elements, customer-supplied equipment and custom-designed electrical hardware.

What you will do:

• Entry-level Electrical Engineer in the product and technology domain

• Individual contributor working under moderate supervision of technical leadership to analyze, design, and document electro-mechanical hardware and interconnects of limited to medium complexity

• Learn and utilize applicable internal processes and tools for the development of training simulator hardware

• Engage with engineering team to understand design requirements

• Create design documentation using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite

• Create baseline change notifications based on technical lead direction

• Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration and test of completed designs and sub-systems

• Support designs from start to finish including direction to manufacturing for interpreting documentation and troubleshooting of finished simulators

• Use independent judgment to make decisions in day-to-day job responsibilities

• Provide support for customer reviews and meetings

• Travel to customer sites to support installations and integration

Qualifications you must have:

• Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)) and less than 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR in the absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required.

• Experience with utilizing Microsoft Office Word and Excel

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

Qualifications we prefer:

• Military experience supporting electrical and mechanical equipment

• Technical Co-op/Intern experience

• Experience utilizing electrical test equipment

• Experience with AutoCAD or other Computer Aided Design tools

• Self-motivated with good organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD - 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
