Your role: The CTO (Chief Technology Office) organization is our strategic technology organization within the Business Sector Electronics. As such, it is driving and steering Electronics technological direction and thereby the Electronics technological programs, investments, pipeline as well as the overall technological roadmap.
As a Research Scientist in Computational Chemistry you will: Liaise with other Computational Chemists to support R&D projects in Electronics. In close collaboration with multidisciplinary project teams, identify how computational modelling can accelerate discovery and product development. Develop necessary computational workflows, carry out exploratory studies, provide expert guidance and deliver computational solutions. Foster collaborations with academics and continuously update your skillset. Together with the computational chemistry community in our company, proactively seek new applications of computational chemistry methods in materials science.
The position can be based in Germany or the US.
Who you are:
+ BS degree with 8+ yrs exp, MS degree with 3+ yrs exp, or PHD in Theoretical Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, or related discipline
+ 3+ years of experience in state-of-the-art Quantum Chemistry, DFT and/or classical Molecular Dynamics calculations, track record of publications in peer-reviewed literature
+ PhD in Theoretical Chemistry, Computational Chemistry, or related discipline
+ Excellent team player, eager to work with multidisciplinary, international teams
+ Familiar with solid state physics, surface science and/or chemical kinetics
+ Good communicator: able to interact smoothly with experimentalists, non-specialists and senior management
+ Expert user of at least one molecular DFT code
+ Experience in scripting of calculations and data analysis, using Python or a similar framework, would be an advantage
+ Experience in one of the following will be an advantage: atomistic modelling of heterogenous catalysis or deposition processes, kinetic modelling
+ Experience in method development is not necessary but will be a plus
+ Familiarity with solid-state and surface DFT will be an advantage
+ Experience in classical Molecular Dynamics will be an advantage
