Boehringer Ingelheim (Biological) Technical Assistant in Biberach, Germany
The Position
We are looking for a highly motivated, curious and adaptable Biological Technical Assistant to work in the group of Investigative Toxicology in Biberach.
Tasks & responsibilities
In your new role, you will independently perform non-GLP exploratory and mechanistic drug safety studies in rodents (rat and mouse).
Moreover, you will be assisting in study plans and reports, support documentation and evaluation of study data (in English).
Furthermore, you will coordinate and organize activities involved in the animal studies. This includes the handling of rats and mice, clinical monitoring and examinations, drug applications, blood collections, necropsy including the description of organ abnormalities.
You will support in the analysis of rodent behavior data from automated video tracking softwares.
You will also closely interact with other external interfaces as well as support other laboratories in the department.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to play an active role in the development/introduction of new research equipment.
Requirements
Successfully completed Bachelor/Master's degree in science or completed vocational training as biological technician
Previous experience in in vivo rodent studies is required
Detail-oriented and flexible to meet study requirements; readiness to learn new animal procedures and computational analysis of rodent behavior data
Previous experience in the analysis of rodent behavior data is highly appreciated
good knowledge of the use of PC and general laboratory equipment
Fluent in German and intermediate command of English (writing and speaking)
Readiness to work on some weekends/public holidays
