Description

· Implement processes, procedures, and programs to develop scalable, transferable best in class quality and food safety systems.

· Oversee HACCP, Supplier Quality Management, and other supporting systems.

· Lead implementation of SQF over 3 facilities located in PA, GA, and AZ

· Manage, train, and provide coaching and development to geographically separated quality managers, including maintaining proper documentation of all training records and supervisory evaluations.

· Oversee applicable department managers for the daily activities of the QA lab, including establishing work schedules to accommodate production and/or customer requirements.

· Ensure customer complaints, deviations and customer specific requests are properly addressed.

· Report and communicate with executive management and ownership as well as interact with Production and Development teams to maintain quality of incoming goods and manufactured finished products.

· Perform periodic audits such as Food Safety and Security Audits

· Maintain and follow GMPs and Quality Laboratory procedures

· Monitor adherence to product specifications. Disposition of all out of spec product and notification of all concerned.

· Act as a technical resource for operational group regarding product compliance.

· Monitor and documenting process and product controls.

· Maintain SOP relating to product Quality, Safety and Security.

· Monitor plant performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports including customer complaints and out of specification products and processes.

· Ensure that all operational management and Corporate Quality are notified in the event of out of normal issues.

· Identify relevant quality-related training needs and delivering training, including initial and ongoing refresher cGMP, HACCP, Allergens, Food Safety/ Food Security training for employees and contractors as required.

· Lead investigation and document all non-conformances and site-specific customer complaints. Identifying Root Cause and Corrective Actions (CAPA and follow ups).

· Manage the site implementation of corporate quality goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to QA/QC.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in a quality or science discipline (microbiology, food science etc.) is needed. Consideration will be given to those professionals that have a successful history working in a quality environment but lack a formal degree.

· Must have at least 7 – 10+ years in quality, with at least 5 years of management/supervisory experience in an FDA, USDA, or other applicable regulatory environment.

· Strong history of managing direct reports in a multi-plant; geographically separated high speed manufacturing facility is critical for success in this role.

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and use scientific methods in regard to quality processes and improvements, pasteurization etc. in order to analyze problems and learn new techniques.

· Must possess strong organizational skills and the innate ability to communicate with all levels of the company.

· CQM, SQA, Lean and Six Sigma experience or certifications are a plus.
