JOB SUMMARY

The Benefits team is responsible for overall administration of Marriott International’s benefit plans. The Benefits Analyst is an integral member of the team and will play leading and partnering roles on all aspects of Marriott’s benefits plans. This includes overseeing ongoing plan operations to ensure high levels of plan performance, associate engagement and experience as well as ensuring that the plans are administered in accordance with the policies and procedures as established by Marriott.

*This is a Hybrid role based in our Bethesda, MD HQ.**

The Benefits Analyst will provide advice, operational support and daily oversight of Marriott’s Family, Work + Life benefit programs. This role will primarily oversee our signature employee discount program, Explore by Marriott Bonvoy™, the TakeCare Relief Fund (charitable fund), company discount programs, employee assistance program, New Hire Orientation for Corporate headquarters, and other supports as needed across Health, Welfare, and Retirement programs. This position will liaison with a cross functional internal staff ranging from the legal department, revenue management, and internal HR teams including L+D and Talent Acquisition. The Benefits Analyst will also learn and be familiar with the systems that support the benefits programs and will work with Marriott’s administrators, third-party vendors.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Integral member of the benefits team applying critical thinking and proactive management relating to administration and programmatic oversight of Marriott International’s benefits programs and resources. Partner with teammates and cross-functional teams to promote benefits programs and resources. Support the collection and reporting of participant and benefit data to ensure plan compliance and gain insights on program effectiveness and opportunities. Offer recommendations based on analysis, data metrics and trends. As a part of benefits administration, provide oversight and manage vendor partnerships to support strategic initiatives.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Management

  • Daily oversight of the TakeCare Relief Fund (charitable fund) and support strategic program initiatives.

  • Administration, oversight, and coordinate a variety of discount programs, including discounts offered to associates around the world for room stays and non-room discounts.

  • Administer and drive awareness and engagement in various Life + Work and Family Benefit programs.

  • Partner and manage external vendor partners. Offer account stewardship and day-to-day vendor management, establish and review QBR reporting, identify data-driven solutions, resources/programs to support manager, HR Leaders, and associates.

  • Evaluate plan performance by monitoring, tracking and reporting plan metrics to assess program effectiveness and opportunities.

Promotional + Administrative Support

  • Present and promote New Hire Orientation and Family Program Sessions to our HQ audience to discuss details of benefit programs with Associates and orientating employees in terms of benefit programs.

  • Coordinate with internal departments and global partners to promote and provide support for ongoing benefits delivery.

  • Identify and update HR Leader/associate communications and guides with relevant benefits details.

  • Evaluate the benefits administrative procedures and systems and identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance associate experience, efficiency, and reduce costs.

  • Resolve administrative and benefit plan design escalations that cannot be resolved by vendor partner.

  • Provide insights, feedback and contributes to functional strategy to support and influence business strategy and decisions.

  • Manage, research, and track escalated issues to ensure resolution and identify areas for process or system improvements.

  • Complete special projects as needed.

Leadership + Managing Execution

  • Build relationships by promoting an environment of collaboration, trust, respect, opportunity, and inclusion by partnering with various disciplines such as L+D for HQ New Hire Orientation delivery.

  • Deliver results by setting ambitious goals, create alignment and drive execution to support the strategic goals and initiatives for benefit programs, including the global Explore by Marriott Bonvoy™ and TakeCare Relief Fund.

  • Manage vendor partnerships with organization and workload management by requesting and using available resources, prioritizing activities, and makes adjustments when appropriate.

  • Collaborates and works effectively with Benefits team members to promote Benefits resources and programs with global HR leaders, managers, and associates. Examples include presentation.

Candidate Profile

Skills and Attributes:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Respond to Marriott management, HR Leader/s, and associate inquires timely and provide proper documentation as needed.

  • Presents ideas, expectations, and information in a concise, organized manner.

  • Uses problem solving skills for decision making and follow up.

  • Strong analytical, and critical thinking skills

  • Manages time effectively and conducts activities in an organized manner.

  • Ability to prioritize activities and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

  • Sound judgement and use of discretion with confidential information

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, business, or related discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize activities and work on multiple projects at once.

  • Ability to manage and coordinate external service providers.

  • 2+ year(s) experience and knowledge in a Human Resources, Benefits, Health & Welfare Consulting, or Insurance role, preferred.

  • Public speaking, presentation experience preferred.

  • Ability to flourish in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently.

  • Analytic abilities and attention to detail demonstrated through prior work experience.

  • Experience working with large data sets and analyzing data from various sources.

  • Project management, preferred.
