Strategic Purchasing Manager
As a key leader in our Strategic Purchasing group, this individual will team with the other members of the Strategic Purchasing group, operational leaders and finance leaders to optimize the indirect spend for the $5 billion Clark enterprise. The Strategic Purchasing manager will be able to employ the recently deployed state of the art technology systems and apply best practice supply management practices to create significant financial and operational impact. They will have the opportunity to leverage company-wide buying power to negotiate national, regional, and local agreements. They should have experience with large scale change management and had successes in implementing innovation and automation in previous roles. This individual must operate with the utmost integrity, bring influential and effective interpersonal skills, possess refined emotional intelligence and have a proven ability to take initiative and deliver results.
The position would be based in Bethesda, MD and report to the Director of Strategic Purchasing.
Responsible for identifying opportunities for negotiation and procurement efficiencies by leveraging data-driven dashboards
Ensures Company-wide indirect procurement needs are met by managing national, regional, and local agreements
Meets with Regional and Divisional leaders to report on procurement KPIs and ensure procurement needs are being met
Works with Supplier Management Coordinator to monitor supplier health and contractual obligations
Oversees collaborative procurement initiatives, such as expansion of Master Agreements
Partners with the Strategic Purchasing Director on behalf of the CFO to identify and mitigate potential procurement issues, such as supply chain disruptions or purchase order compliance
Trains and manages Strategic Purchasing Agents and Analysts on organization's indirect procurement process
Supports new work acquisition by developing procurement plans, assigning resources, and identifying preferred suppliers with the jobsite at the onset of a project
Interfaces with Senior Management, Purchasing Department (direct procurement), Project Teams, Legal, Contracts Management Group, and Self Perform Division Leaders
Develops and maintains strong working relationships w/ both internal and external stakeholders
Manages overall indirect procurement process Company-wide
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience
5 - 7 years of relevant work experience
Procurement or supply chain experience required
Able to negotiate terms and contracts
Experience with Coupa or similar cloud-based P2P software
Up to date on progressive trends in procurement and big data
Well organized and detail-oriented
Self-starter and able to work independently
