JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Card Acquisitions, is a member of the U.S. Co-brand Card Acquisitions team. This role supports portfolio growth for American Express Cobrand Card products and is vital to building and strengthening member loyalty and engagement with Marriott’s brands and most valuable members and guests. This role will work in close partnership with external bank partners and agencies and will play a key role in the development of marketing campaigns across internal and external channels, to drive new card acquisitions.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

• 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related major AND 4+ years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance in co-brand marketing, acquisition marketing, or a related field within the financial services, retail, or hospitality sectors.

OR

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in co-brand marketing, acquisition marketing, or a related field within the financial services, retail or hospitality sectors.

• Proven track record of successfully developing, managing, and executing co-brand acquisition campaigns, with a demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance targets.

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Portfolio Growth and American Express program Management

• Lead and influence strategies to drive portfolio growth for U.S. Co-brand Consumer Cards, with focus on Affluent and Small Business audiences

• Develop product growth plan and marketing roadmap for Marriott Bonvoy American Express Co-brands, to deliver aggressive acquisitions goals

• Collaborate with internal and external partners, to identify target audience, inform value proposition, offer strategy, optimize user journeys, and coordinate tactics to support expansion

• Work with internal teams and bank partners to coordinate ongoing testing, analysis, reporting and forecasting

• Utilize analysis to identify and summarize opportunities to implement innovations and enhancements to increase revenue and portfolio growth

Marriott Primary Channel Card Acquisitions

• Deliver innovative channel marketing strategy for Affluent and Small Business audiences

• Plan, coordinate, deploy and manage digital acquisitions marketing campaigns, creative, assets and offers on web and mobile app

• Manage campaign and segment optimization, budgets and reporting to achieve acquisitions KPIs

• Manage offer optimization and personalization, with internal and external stakeholders, to target the right offer in the member/customer lifecycle

• Identify opportunities to transform channel efficiencies and efficacy via triggers, ride-along opportunities and new placements

Support Key Consumer Card Acquisitions Channels

• Lead the relationship with Marriott Vacations Club

• Lead acquisitions marketing efforts for American Express Co-brand Card products, in key internal and external channels, managing creative, segment optimization, and budgets to achieve acquisition KPIs

• Plan and deploy Customer Engagement Center acquisitions growth strategy in collaboration with call center leadership and bank partners, including channel expansion, product targeting, offer/script development, tracking and associate training

• Develop strategy to optimize performance of credit card acquisitions in Bank ChanneCoordinate with the existing cardmember team on developing member get member strategies.

• Support expansion of on property, sales organization, and associate card acquisitions efforts

• Manage the development and implementation of marketing assets and campaigns across internal and external channels

• Manage ad-hoc marketing projects as needed, to support Global Cards strategic goals.

• Develop creative and coordinate execution of Direct Mail acquisitions campaigns, in partnership with external agencies and bank partners, focusing on efficiencies and new account growth.

Achieving Goals

• Build and strengthen the Marriott Bonvoy U.S. credit card portfolio, achieving aggressive acquisitions and sales goals, program revenue and profit targets.

• Drive new cardmember growth, engagement and card spend for U.S. Marriott Bonvoy credit card portfolio, by thinking strategically and making data-driven decisions in a heavily regulated environment.

• Develop and launch marketing initiatives designed to drive profitable market share growth.

• Contribute to the Marketing Plan with competitive insight/hindsight learning and point of view on future development/growth opportunities.

• Improve product and program marketability and profitability by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities, improving product benefits, and coordinating new product development.

• Apply strategic marketing expertise and leadership, to evolve creative assets and offers, improve reach and enhance effectiveness of marketing campaigns.

• Evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and touchpoints.

• Leverage customer insight to inform and optimize program messaging and refine customer experience.

• Remain current on industry trends, developments including those in payments, credit cards, and loyalty marketing and applies knowledge to evolve relevant benefits set and card value proposition.

• Monitor and evaluate competitive landscape, emerging technologies and market movement. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption.

• Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.

• Provide technical expertise and support to persons inside and outside of the department.

• Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders including but not limited to Bank Partners, Digital merchandizing, Digital Product, Analytics, Orchestration, and Marriott Bonvoy Loyalty Program.
