Philips EMC System Engineer in Best, Netherlands

In this role, you have the opportunity to develop electrical (sub-)systems and solutions, including their validation, testing, and troubleshooting, for Interventional Guided Therapy systems (fixed interventional X-Ray systems). You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to apply research results and technology advancements while ensuring our systems (including components, units, and third-party products) comply with international EMC standards (e.g., IEC60601-1-2). Utilize the state-of-the-art EMC labs in Best, The Netherlands, to achieve this.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform EMC (pre-)compliance tests in collaboration with the internal accredited EMC lab.

  • Set up test strategies and plans to comply with EMC international standards in alignment with the Norm Compliance department.

  • Consult and support electrical, mechanical, and software designers in EMC design.

  • Direct and support suppliers regarding EMC compliance.

  • Co-create, maintain, and implement EMC architecture and compliance.

  • Maintain and improve EMC facilities and equipment.

  • Successfully cooperate with your team and stakeholders.

  • Plan, deliver results, and document processes.

  • Coach and supervise electrical designers, partners, and suppliers in setting up requirements and designing their parts, coordinating their integration into our systems.

  • Lead architectural choices and roadmaps, communicating scenarios and consequences leading to decisions.

  • Be end-to-end responsible for requirements until verification and release, including defining requirements of non-R&D functions such as marketing, manufacturing, service, procurement, compliance, and regulatory.

You're the right fit if:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a professional engineering environment.

  • At least 5 years of experience in EMC development and/or measurement, preferably with IEC60601-1-2.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in EMC equipment, labs, facilitation, and requirement definition.

  • Experience in new product introduction or life-cycle development in the industry.

Skills:

  • Proactive and energetic, self-driven professional with hands-on and accurate work ethic.

  • Strong coordination and soft skills, able to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

  • Excellent communication skills in English.

Education:

  • A Master of Science or related technical degree in electrical, electronics, mechatronics engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • We are also open to candidates with a completed Ph.D. and no additional work experience.
