Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Construction industry, located in Bessemer, Alabama. This role will be primarily in an office environment and encompasses a range of accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger operations, and financial reporting.

Key responsibilities:

• Handle the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Conduct bank reconciliations for company accounts

• Oversee the management of payroll operations

• Prepare and manage entries in the general ledger

• Conduct month-end close processes with precision and efficiency

• Prepare financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

• Assist in the preparation of project budgets and tracking expenses

• Conduct variance analysis as needed to identify financial status and performance

• Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance

• Transition between accounting software systems, namely QuickBooks and Sage Accounting Software. Requirements • Must have proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Should be skilled in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is a must

• Must be familiar with General Ledger maintenance and management

• Ability to create and manage Journal Entries is required

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is necessary

• Proficiency in using QuickBooks software is required

• Experience with Sage Accounting Software is preferred
