Job Overview

The Sr. Manager, Quality Connector Business is a pivotal role within the Quality Organization of the Aerospace, Defense & Marine (ADM) Business Unit. This role is responsible for the execution of the AD&M Quality Strategy across the Connector Business. The role reports to ADM Sr Quality Director and supports the Connector Sr Director of Operations and the associated Connector Manufacturing plants and Quality Managers at those plants. The ideal candidate will have a broad base background in Aerospace & Defense, experience in component/connector manufacturing, and a passion to drive continuous improvement through defect reduction and the implementation of preventive process control.

This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and execution of actions to reduce process defects and the cost of poor quality.

  • Partner with Plant Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to implement robust process control

  • Partner with Plant Quality teams to reduce and prevent customer complaints.

  • Team with Sr Quality Leads for other product lines outside connectors to develop and implement one ADM approach to Quality processes – customer corrective actions, audit closures, material review boards, KPI reporting and management, reduction of COPQ; and implementation of process control

  • Collaborate across the value chain with Design, Supplier, Build, and Customer Quality to improve quality assurance across the value chain.

  • 50%-70% required travel.

  • Engage with Connector sites in US, Mexico, UK, and France .

  • Responsible for developing, documenting, implementing, and managing the quality management system for the sub-business unit.

  • Sets the tone for a “Zero Defect Culture” and deployment of continuous improvement/lean as the engine of delivering consistent and reliable operational performance.

  • Deploy structured problem-solving techniques to identify root cause and corrective actions.

  • Actively drive TE Operating Advantage as the de facto TEOA Champion at the leadership team.

What your background should look like:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quality discipline. Graduate degree desired, but not essential.

  • Minimum 12 years of quality management experience in a discrete manufacturing company. Familiarity with

  • Aerospace products markets and /or component manufacturing is a plus.

  • Considerable Global leadership experience, working with Asia, Europe and North America.

  • Demonstrated capability to lead cross functionally with indirect influence.

  • Ability to support VP & GM to operationalize the strategy related to the Global Quality organization and execution of strategic and operational initiatives.

  • Build Effective Teams: Creates and communicates standards and mission

  • Drive for Results: Displays initiative, prioritizes time and resources, seeks solutions and outcomes.

COMPENSATION

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $141,120 - $211,680 (subject to change dependent on physical location)

• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
