24 Full Time Seasonal H-2A Jobs available 04/08/24- 10/31/24.
Crops: Strawberries, Tomatoes, Lopes, Squash, Eggplant, Greens, Beans, Cabbage, Peppers, Corn
Field work, prepare fields, make beds, lay drip tape. Plant and maintain vegetables which includes staking, tying & pruning. Workers will use hand tools such as (but not limited to) shovels, hoes, clippers and knifes. Workers will load and stack baskets and crates onto trailers. Workers will lay plastic, install irrigation, manually plant and weed. Workers will clean plastic and fields of debris.
Preharvest duties for vegetables may include laying plastic, planting, cultivation staking and wedding of plants by hand and/or hoe. Workers will plant, cultivate and harvest vegetables by hand or with a specialty knife. Workers will be required to remove weeds by hand or with a hoe. Workers will bend and stoop to pick vegetables according to size, color, shape and degree of maturity and place into field containers. Workers may carry full container weighing approximately fifty (50) lbs. and empty into field bin or load onto trailer. May be required to pull and discard culls as directed by supervisor. Pickers will take care not to bruise or scar produce. Pre-harvest activities may include staking, tying, transplanting and pruning.
Workers will stand on feet for long periods of time. Workers are required to work in fields when plants are wet with dew or rain. Temperatures in fields during working hours can range from forty (40) to over ninety (90) degrees. Workers will work in groups to harvest crops with agricultural equipment that is moving through the field along with the workers while being careful not to damage harvested product. Package, grade and sort harvested crops into bins, bags, boxes, plastic containers, and crates.
Some workers may be chosen to be working team leaders.
Allergies to varieties of ragweed, goldenrod, insecticides, related agricultural chemicals, etc., may affect worker's ability to perform the work described herein.
