What do you contribute?

You will work as System Manager ETCS Onboard Unit (OBU) within the framework of international tender projects to integrate on-board ETCS train protection equipment, the so-called Onboard Unit, into rail vehicles, e.g., locomotives, multiple units, or track maintenance vehicles from existing fleets or new vehicles. #OneOBU

  • Handle the technical aspects of on-board train protection (ETCS, ATO, and NTC) during the tendering process.

  • Analyze customer requirements and check their feasibility in terms of technical and operational constraints.

  • Define the system architecture and coordinate with internal and external partners.

  • Craft an approvable system solution, considering all vital technical, safety, security, and approval-related aspects.

  • Explain your technical solution concept in discussions with customers and clarify further details.

  • Prepare technical planning and quotation documents, as well as document technical claims and risk management.

  • Contribute lessons learned from your own and other projects to the team.

What we are looking for:

  • University degree or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering or scientific field.

  • Extensive experience in rail vehicle technology, for example in system engineering/system management or an equivalent activity in on-board train control systems.

  • Familiarity with relevant norms and standards, such as CENELEC, TSI CCS.

  • Experience working in international teams.

  • Good command of English and German.

  • Willing to travel on business (maximum 20%).
