The Manager Internal Controls will work in the EMEA Control Team whose goal will be to ensure the organization's objectives in implementing a strong control environment to mitigate potential risks to the organization and compliance with laws, regulations and policies within Germany.

In particular she/he will be in charge of the following activities:

  • CONTROLS

  • Ensure policy/control compliance

  • Complete ACA for different control environments

  • Management of SOX requirements. (Gap assessments, Testing in L1 entities, Checklist completion, Segregation of duty and User access reviews, Account reconciliations status, etc.)

  • Resolution of SOX tickets

  • Strengthen the control environment & review new systems (JDE…)/ lean processes improvements to enhance controls and standardization

  • 302 reporting process owner

  • Support Internal Audit & local control environments

  • Support Statutory audits (organization, fees approval, analysis of complex areas, etc.)

  • Participate in Ethics investigations with financial impacts

  • Participate in different Committees (Audit Committee, etc)

  • TALENT

  • Training/education/support of Otis reporting requirements, accounting treatments, policies, and controls for all levels & departments in MG.

  • Coach and lead controls team and support branch & subsidiaries audit process

  • Drive team development and set strategy for Market Groups

  • FINANCIAL REPORTING

  • Responsible for Stat2GAAP

  • Owner of approval matrix and support EMEA workflows. Approve transactions according to the matrix.

  • Otis policy (development, compliance, training, deviation & Implementation, including Joint Venture reporting, embedded FX)

  • Technical accounting (White papers, policy development, guidance, transactions)

  • Review of MG Profit/Loss and Balance Sheet. Review of reserves and accounting matters. Compliance with accounting rules.

  • Submit and review One timers, Policy deviations, and PSJ

  • Owner of Major Contract Financial reviews

  • Support Finance and Business leaders in MG entities in different aspects. Day to day requests and queries

  • Ensure proper answer to EMEA/WHQ information requests and queries

The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:

  • Economics or Business master degree required, MBA or Master of Accounting preferred

  • Fluent English knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS and SOX/ACA

  • Strong background in auditing, financial control, accounting, analysis and reporting

  • 5+ years of total accounting/finance professional experience in a Big 4 accounting firm, additional experience in a multinational company in a similar role will be a plus

  • Ability to work, take ownership, and succeed in a rapidly changing environment

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build strong relationship across the Company, work collaboratively with remote teams of finance staff

  • Pace, autonomy, strong organization and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively
