As Instagram Localization Editor, you will define and deliver the voice, tone, and style of a variety of content (such as marketing, sales or comms) in close partnership with the German Language Manager, the German Localization Editor and Instagram in-country stakeholders. You will be training translators to adapt to the preferred style, tone and voice in your language. This is a full-time position and can be based in the Facebook Hamburg or Berlin office. It is very important that you enjoy and are efficient at working with remote teams across different time zones.

Required Skills:

  1. Edit translations delivered by external vendor translators to ensure quality and market suitability

  2. Provide feedback to translation teams so they learn the style, tone and voice of Instagram content in German

  3. Maintain the localization glossary and style guide for Instagram content

  4. Collaborate closely with Instagram in-market stakeholders to reflect regional requirements in translations

  5. Identify priority content types for the market based on feedback from in-market stakeholders

  6. Partner with the Language Manager and peer Localization Editor in defining Instagram linguistic standards for the market

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Native fluency in German and near-native fluency in English

  2. Familiarity with the language and culture of the country

  3. 3+ years of experience in copy editing, content authoring, marketing content or similar. Translation experience would be a plus

  4. BA or equivalent required, preferably in communication, journalism, language or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of localization tooling and processes

  2. Cross-functional collaboration experience working with Marketing, PR, Comms, Policy and/or Content teams is a plus

  3. Being an active Instagram user

  4. Familiarity with digital marketing

  5. Experience with translation
