Role summary & purpose

GE Vernova – Grid Systems Integration product line is globally recognized for designing, manufacturing, and delivering customized High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and AC solutions for utilities worldwide. With over 130 years of pioneering experience, GE offers complex technologies to support a broad range of electrical substations.

Every solutions is tailored and designed based on a project-by-project assessment of the customers' individual requirements, whether it's for connecting offshore wind generation, long distance power transmission, or energy trading between independent networks, or connecting other source of supply or industry to the Grid.

Within this cross-centers and multicultural organization, the Regional plant team leader manages directly the plant engineering team (up to 100 persons direct and indirect)

He reports directly to the CE Engineering Leader.

Essential responsibilities

  • Manage & develop the Plant Engineering teams working for Central Europe and based at different sites, up to 100 persons

  • Ensure proper development and implementation of plant engineering process & tools

  • Promote local opportunities (e.g. knowledge sharing with other disciplines, within the GE GSI Engineering community, close collaboration with customers, universities, industry bodies… when relevant)

  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives and Lessons Learnt

  • Workload management and recruitment in the discipline of Plant Engineering

  • Act as deputy to CE Engineering Leader to address the growth regarding Workload management, recruitment, and development of competencies

Qualifications and Skills

  • 15+ years of Engineering leadership roles in EPC type environment in T&D

  • Demonstrate successful team management experience of 50+ Engineers

  • Strong leadership, analytical mind, rigorous and commitment

  • Ability to lead teams remotely in different locations

  • Mastering of some engineering processes such as: Civil work, Plant configuration, System & performance studies

  • Demonstrated ability to lead in an unstructured environment and deliver results

  • Demonstrates ownership & accountability, judgment and decision making, influences & inspires team, creates a vision and strategy, and has passion for the role

  • Global experience and mindset including high technical cultural competence and sensitivity

  • Knowledge of Autodesk CAD tools Revit & Navisworks

  • Professional English & German spoken and written
