Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a VP/Director of Finance. This role involves the management of the city's financial operations, implementation of financial policies, and supervision of the finance department staff.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring the city's financial stability through effective management of financial operations

• Development and implementation of financial policies and procedures across the city

• Preparation and monitoring of the city's annual budget to ensure financial efficiency

• Conducting financial analysis and providing support for decision-making processes across different city departments

• Supervision and management of the finance department staff ensuring a smooth workflow

• Fulfilling the role of a liaison with external auditors, government agencies, bank representatives and other stakeholders

• Overseeing the city's procurement and purchasing processes to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance

• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local financial and tax regulations to avoid legal issues

• Processing payroll efficiently and accurately

• Utilizing accounting software systems for effective management of accounting functions.

Requirements • Candidate must hold a minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance leadership role.

• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems is mandatory.

• Must possess a comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions.

• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable (AP) is required.

• Should have experience in formulating and managing an Annual Budget.

• Auditing skills are essential for this role.

• Familiarity with Budget Processes is a must.

• Knowledge and experience in Governmental accounting are required.

• Experience in Fund Accounting is critical.

• Should have experience in managing Full Cycle Payroll.
