The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Product Security Engineering (PSE) organization is seeking an experienced Product Security Engineering Manager to provide leadership to product security activities in the Air Dominance (AD) current and future portfolios from Berkeley, MO .

This position is part of growing the BDS organization in the area of multi-disciplinary cybersecurity engineering, which is responsible for the cyber security and resiliency of our embedded systems within products, platforms, and services. This leader will have the opportunity to shape and influence PSE within the AD portfolio.

This PSE team’s portfolio spans exciting programs such as F/A-18 Super Hornets/Growlers, F-15 Eagle, MQ-25 Stingray, T-7A Red Hawk, F-22 Raptor and multiple Phantom Works efforts. Primary responsibilities for this position span across the different program(s) and products, including the design and development of next generation embedded systems.

The candidate must be able to consistently, pro-actively recognize and work through a wide range of product security issues to resolve. This position involves implementing appropriate security controls and requirements per JSIG, DoD and ICD 503 RMF, NISPOM, or DoD Overprint to the NISPOM as required by customers. This candidate has the opportunity to shape/influence Product Security Engineering discipline across the AD portfolio and across Boeing’s Enterprise Product Security community.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide project leadership in key development, production, sustainment, and research areas.

  • Represent PSE organization as prime point of contact for assigned projects.

  • Communicate team’s performance with senior leadership.

  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.

  • Provide leadership oversight for planning, scheduling, risk, issues, and opportunities.

  • Support cross functional teams to ensure product security system objectives are being met.

  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees as well as set operational goals for team.

  • Manage budgets, earned value management inputs, and estimates to complete.

  • Develop/maintain partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, & direct reports.

  • Plan and manage assigned projects product security work scope (Cost, Schedule, Technical & Quality).

  • Coach, mentor and provide developmental opportunities for employees.

  • Perform employee evaluation, hiring, retention, awards/recognition, and goal setting.

  • Execute to program staffing, hiring, critical skills, and employee development plans.

  • Support program proposal process and basis of estimates for assigned projects.

  • Provide support for non-direct team members that support product security efforts.

  • Directly manage employees/team in daily operations.

  • Determine and direct team priorities.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. Travel (up to 25%) may be required for meetings with customers, internal meetings, etc.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 1+ years of experience in product security engineering.

  • 3+ years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working with government customers and government programs.

  • Previous cyber security or technical leadership experience.

  • Experience managing budgets/Earn Value Management (EVM)/Cost Account Manager (CAM).

  • Experience in leading system/component level cyber test and evaluation, including threat and security assessments, and tabletop exercises.

  • Experience leading software assurance planning/assessments, including static/dynamic code analysis.

  • Security+ certification or CISSP certification.
