The Modification and Sustainment Capability within Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a high-performing engineering manager to lead the F-22 Raptor Air Vehicle Subsystems team. As an Engineering First Line Leader, the candidate will lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers working closely with the United States Air Force and industry partners to sustain and modernize the F-22 Raptor to ensure fleet readiness and continued air dominance. The team consists of Mechanical Subsystems and Electrical Subsystems engineers. The team is responsible for the following subsystems: Auxiliary Power Generation System (APGS), RADAR, Power Supplies, Fire Protection, Life Support Systems (LSS) and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes for employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of mechanical, electrical, & controls systems.

  • Management and oversight of staffing levels; performance evaluations, performance development and coaching to enable employee development and program success.

  • Effectively plans and executes statement of work (cost, schedule, technical, & safety). Provides technical, business and integration leadership for the development and execution of project or team plans.

  • Compares actual results to baseline plan to assess project performance, efficiencies, productivity and lessons learned.

  • Identify, develop, implement, and champion initiatives to manage the business.

  • Establishes, develops, & maintains relationships with team, customers, stakeholders, peers, suppliers, and partners.

Security Clearance:

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Program Access:

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree or greater in an engineering related field

  • 5+ years of experience in an engineering related role

  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role

Desired Education, Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Engineering

  • 1+ years of engineering leadership experience (in lead or manager role) working on advanced fighter aircraft

  • Experience training and/or mentoring in a technical environment

  • 1+ years of experience working with Mechanical or Structures related statements of work.

  • Active Secret DoD Security Clearance

Travel:

10% Domestically

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

100% Onsite

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. (St. Louis, MO)

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $129,200- $174,800
