Overview:
This is a Senior Leader role supporting all aspects of new business, sales, and onboarding of new clients across commercial lines within NOE. The Regional Sales Officer will oversee, lead, and manage the commercial lines new business team which supports HUB International sales professionals as a strategic and technical resource throughout the sales cycle. This is both a client facing and internal role that includes qualifying opportunities and working with our Producers on cultivating new business opportunities and ultimately winning new business, leading to the growth of HUB NOE’s commercial lines business segment.
Functions & Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, and oversee NOE’s Commercial Lines New Business Teams
• Provide ongoing coaching, support, and performance feedback to team members, helping them to meet individual and team sales goals
• Support Producer efforts throughout the entirety of the sales cycle inclusive of developing, qualifying, strategizing, and winning commercial lines new business opportunities
• Join producers and other client facing professionals at early-stage prospect meetings, participate in sales negotiations, and attend client/prospect presentation meetings as needed
• Become proficient and able to articulate the HUB Value Proposition, as well as available HUB resources, to prospective clients
• Develop creative solutions on new business opportunities and understand HUB differentiators to turn prospects into clients
• Work closely with NOE’s CSO to align commercial lines sales efforts with NOE goals and develop and implement new business strategies applicable to growing HUB Northeast’s Commercial Lines Division
• Create strong working relationships with NOE salesforce to garner prospective opportunities flowing through the CL New Business Team
• Pursue additional CL growth opportunities, including fostering relationships with Employee Benefits, Personal Lines, Life, and Retirement & Private Wealth producers to identify and promote cross-sell opportunities into Commercial Lines.
• Liaise with NOE’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) & Marketing Team on new business opportunities to utilize carrier relationships when needed.
As New Business Team Leader, you will oversee a team that performs the following functions:
• Support Producers and Prospects to collect pertinent underwriting information to create a complete and detailed insurance submission for insurance company consideration.
• Create detailed submissions to include Acord applications, exposure spreadsheets, loss summaries, and coverage specifications.
• Construct detailed insurance proposals, coverage comparison, and service capabilities to include persuasive executive summary, pricing and exposure exhibits/comparisons, summary of terms and conditions and other pertinent deal information as necessary.
• Adequately present findings and solutions to prospects with the ultimate goal of meeting our prospects needs and securing business.
• Responsible for managing the timing and information flow for multiple sales opportunities at any one point in time while communicating the status of an opportunity during the Critical Path process
• Apply (basic) proficiency of loss analysis, SIRs, Retrospective Rating/loss sensitive plans on account activity as needed
• Transfer won business to CL service teams in a detailed, organized, and professional manner
Qualifications:
• 15+ years of experience in the insurance industry working on risks, sales, and policy placements in a senior leadership role
• Bachelor's degree, at a minimum
• Direct experience working with National and Regional Carriers with strong senior level relationships
• Significant industry knowledge including knowledge of industry standards and regulations
• All required industry licenses
• Exceptional project management skills (ability to establish, develop, implement, and execute strategies)
• Ability to interface and work collaboratively with colleagues and management at various levels within the organization
• Strong ability to influence, create demand and negotiate with internal and external clients, vendors, and carriers
• Ability to think strategically and “out-of-the-box”, while not being afraid to question and constructively challenge
• Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure without comprising quality or service
• Successful experience managing demanding deadlines and working with limited resources and information
• Track record of keeping commitments, keeping others informed of work progress, working within timeframes, being responsive to those within and outside of the organization, and addressing problems and issues constructively to find acceptable and practical business solutions in a timely manner
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, integrity, and trust
• Possession of a sense of urgency, the ability to prioritize and high organizational skills
The expected pay range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and work location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope, and level.
