Jira Engineer

What does a successful Jira Engineer do at Fiserv?

You will provide engineering and process improvement expertise for agile transformation across our Merchant Solutions business. You will be a subject matter expert in Jira capabilities: alignment, adoption, updates and upgrades. You will manage and maintain Jira and Confluence instances, including user management, permission schemes, and project configurations. You will also own, troubleshoot and solve complex customer technical Jira and Confluence related issues, including performance tuning and system optimizations. You will Utilize scripting languages, e.g., Python, Groovy, PowerShell to create custom automation solutions within Jira.

What you will do:

  • Customize Jira workflows, screens, fields, and notifications to align with business requirements

  • Collaborate with other teams to integrate Jira with external systems using APIs and automation tools

  • Configure and maintain Jira integrations with other tools and systems, such as development tools, testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and communication platforms

  • Configure and manage Jira add-ons and plugins to enhance functionality and meet specific business requirements

  • ​Ensure proper configuration management and version control of Jira instances and associated plugins

  • Error diagnosis and code review as needed, debug, validate, and root cause analysis in Atlassian products

What you will need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience in technical support, software services, or system administration for a large end-user community related to the Atlassian suite: JIRA, Confluence and or Bitbucket

  • 5+ years of experience with Jira and Confluence Data Center with AWS hosted instances

  • 5+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator with extensive knowledge of Jira administration and configuration

  • 5+ years of experience writing SQL queries

  • 5+ years of experience in automation scripting languages such as Python, Groovy, PowerShell, or similar

  • 5+ years of experience integrating Jira with other systems and tools using APIs and automation tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience

What would be great to have:

  • Experience working with Jira Service Manager

  • Experience working with Splunk, Dynatrace, Clarity

  • Familiarity with AWS Cloud technologies.

  • Understanding of ServiceNow, Aha, Flomatika, Allstack, or SailPoint integrations

  • Experience understanding and supporting Java-based apps, being able to analyze/troubleshoot Stack trace and Java-based exceptions.
