Position Summary:

The Tool and Component Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible for inspection of product and quality assurance. Additional duties include mold/tooling preventative maintenance, inspection and repair and production support of molded gears. Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance

  • Perform first article inspections, Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility and Capability Studies. Execution of Production Part Approval Processes and Validation Protocols.

  • Monitor ongoing production quality levels to ensure conformance to customer requirements.

  • Recommend tooling and metrology fixturing refurbishing – replacement.

  • Actively participate in internal design reviews with an emphasis on Design for Manufacturing and Lean Practices.

  • Perform daily production audits following specific quality control plans.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and the implement corrective actions to address production non-conformances.

  • Actively participate in problem solving sessions.

  • Actively involved in ISO 9001 internal and customer quality audits.

Manufacturing/design of molded gears

  • Mold and process set ups in support of molding production orders.

  • Coordinate and set up manufacturing cells for the production of gear assemblies.

  • Complete incoming inspection reports for externally sourced components.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s Degree in a related field a plus

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.

  • Machining skills a plus

  • Experience with precision inspection a plus.

Computer Skills:

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Outlook
