Job Responsibilities:
- Safe Transport: Transport students to and from school, special events, and extracurricular activities in a safe and timely manner.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic checks on the bus to ensure it is safe to operate, including inspecting brakes, lights, and tires.
- Student Safety: Ensure students follow safety rules on the bus, assist with boarding and exiting, and manage student behavior.
- Emergency Preparedness: Be prepared to handle emergency situations, such as accidents or medical emergencies, and perform first aid if necessary.
- Communication: Communicate with school staff, parents, and dispatchers regarding schedules, delays, or safety concerns.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, bus routes, and any incidents or issues during the bus ride.
Job Qualifications:
- Licenses: A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement.
- Experience: Previous experience driving large vehicles is often preferred but not always required.
- Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to manage student behavior, and knowledge of safety procedures.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a physical exam and drug test, along with the stamina to drive for extended periods.
