Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Supplier Quality Engineer I-III based at our Berea, KY, manufacturing facility.

What you will do:

  • Lead Continuous Improvement Activities: Identify and implement initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes, including automation, robotics, and digital systems.

  • Validate Processes: Ensure new and existing manufacturing processes meet engineering requirements through capability studies and gauge R&R analysis.

  • Resolve Quality Issues: Address day-to-day quality issues from various sources, such as NCRs, line faults, and warranty claims, using quality tools and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Support Manufacturing: Provide daily support to manufacturing value streams, including audits and analysis to maintain quality standards.

  • Manage Supplier Quality: Coordinate supplier corrective actions, document supplier issues, and work with procurement engineers to resolve problems, enhancing overall product quality.

  • Support New Product Introduction: Identify and document pre-production problems, collaborate with the NPI team, and integrate new processes and technologies smoothly.

  • Maintain Documentation: Train quality technicians, maintain process documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

What you will need:

Level I:

  • Bachelor’s degree (technical field) preferred or Associates degree or 3 – 5 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing

  • 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing or equivalent education.

Level II:

  • Bachelor’s degree (technical field) preferred or Associates degree or 5 – 7 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing.

  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in manufacturing or equivalent education

Level: III:

  • Bachelor’s degree (technical field) preferred or Associates degree or 7 – 10 years of relevant work experience in manufacturing

  • 7 - 10 years’ experience in manufacturing or equivalent education.

Skills, Experience & Abilities:

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement, manage processes, and implement new concepts. Skilled in leading and interacting with small groups.

  • Continuous Improvement: Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and problem-solving methodologies. Proven ability to lead and coach teams in continuous improvement projects.

  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve problems. Capable of using structured problem-solving processes to implement permanent corrective actions.

  • Workload Management: Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills. Demonstrated ability to be proactive and take initiative, with the capacity to perform duties exercising independent judgment.

  • Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to function as a team player and effectively interact with various stakeholders.

  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of multiple manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, assembly techniques, time studies, automation, PLC, machine logic, torque tooling, and computer applications.
