Kelly Services MIG Welder in Berea, Kentucky

Welder - Berea, KY

We are currently seeking Welding Technicians to join our team. As a Welding Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, tacking, welding, and ensuring material draw on major components, sub-weldments, and miscellaneous parts. You will also be responsible for maintaining adherence to quality standards and promoting a safe work environment.

  • Shifts:

  • 1st Shift: 5:00 am - 3:30 pm $19/hr

  • 2nd Shift: 4:00 pm - 2:30 am $19.65/hr

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, tack, weld, and allow for material draw on components and parts.

  • Position, fit, block, clamp, and adjust fixturing to obtain proper alignment.

  • Maintain a smooth and even bead during welding, ensuring proper penetration and coverage.

  • Conduct quality checks on work to ensure adherence to specifications.

  • Promote a safe work environment through safe behavior, proper use of equipment, and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Maintain general housekeeping and care of tools, equipment, materials, and the facility.

  • Adhere to all company policies, including safety, housekeeping, and environmental guidelines.

  • Read and interpret technical documents, such as blueprints, operation sheets, and diagrams.

  • Familiarity with DFT techniques and National Career Readiness Certification is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six months welding experience.

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Knowledge of welding techniques and ability to read blueprints.

  • Physical ability to perform tasks related to welding and setup.

  • Familiarity with safety protocols and proper use of PPE.

  • Ability to understand and follow technical documents and instructions.
