Walmart (USA) Software Engineer III, Connected Assistance (Mobile Calling) team in Bentonville, Arkansas

Position Summary...

What you'll do...

We are the Connected Assistance (Mobile Calling) team. Connected Assistance is a mini-app in the Me@ ecosystem, enabling customer calls to be routed to associate handheld devices via WebEx. We manage many of the back-end services and a mobile app.

Duties:

  • Collaboration: Work across multiple IT functions, employees, and vendors to ensure that Connected Assistance (Mobile Calling) solutions are reliable and scalable.

  • Program Planning and Implementation: Plan and implement programs to enable global voice and contact center infrastructures to operate effectively and scale reliably.

  • Operational Excellence: Drive continuous improvement for Connected Assistance and the Me@ ecosystem through IT Services Management processes and procedures.

  • Project Leadership: Lead partnerships with other teams for assigned projects by providing documents, direction, and examples; identifying solutions and timelines; reviewing and providing feedback for proposed solutions; and performing design and code reviews.

  • Issue Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot business and production issues by gathering information, engaging support teams, formulating action plans, performing designated actions, interpreting results, performing root cause analyses, and completing online documentation.

  • User Support: Provide support to the business by responding to user questions, concerns, and issues; identify solutions; facilitate resolutions; and lead cross-functional partnerships.

  • Project Discovery: Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects by reviewing requirements, translating them into technical solutions, gathering information, developing code, conducting unit testing, communicating status and issues, collaborating with teams, troubleshooting issues, ensuring on-time delivery, and providing leadership.

  • Development and Architecture: Develop and architect web and mobile applications, including React Native app development.

  • Communication: Engage in daily communication with the team and clients using tools like Zoom and MS Teams. Fluency in English for business/technical meetings is essential.

  • Technical Skills: Possess strong communication and technical skills, working with an entrepreneurial mindset to ensure the best outcomes for associates and the business.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  • Master's Degree: In Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 2 years of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR

  • Bachelor's Degree: In Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience in software engineering or related experience.

Skills Required:

  • Backend Engineering: 3 to 4 years of experience in backend engineering platform development.

  • Java Technologies: 3+ years of experience in Java technologies, distributed systems, and large-scale application development and design.

  • Technologies: Hands-on experience with Kafka, Cosmos, containerization technology, and microservices.

  • CI/CD: Well-versed in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment.

  • Technical Expertise: Work with Java, multithreading, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to develop robust, high-performance, and scalable applications.

  • Leadership: Strong technical background with hands-on capability and the ability to mentor top individual technical talent.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
