Senior Manager, Business Development

Our team is seeking a Senior Manager, Business Development, to help lead our efforts to drive membership operations and drive membership growth. This includes supporting all of our acquisition and retention efforts, working with program managers membership campaign execution, collaborating with our CRM and mobile marketing teams, working with data & analytics and insights teams to ensure clarity on membership segment trends, coordinating with our third party partners to launch and manage new partner benefits and working cross-functionally with other teams within Walmart (e.g. Open Call, Marketplace, Constituent Relations, Supplier Development, Connect, Lease Tenants and others). The individual will be member-centric, focused on ensuring operational efficiency so that we are able to move with speed, maintain strong relationships with our internal and external partners and enable us to acquire and retain satisfied members. Some of the work this role would support includes building and testing new foundational partnerships, new member benefits and new limited time offers while also working cross functionally to support current customer and member needs. Importantly, this individual will coordinate with colleagues throughout Walmart to unlock new B2B opportunities, help to execute net new B2B benefit, quantify and articulate impact and value to members of new benefits and offers, and execute new partnerships and evaluate success based on pre-determined success metrics. This role will work at the strategic level (understanding target customer needs, leveraging customer behavioral & transactional data etc.) and at the operational level (launching and optimizing new member benefits, influencing marketing outreach efforts to execute membership marketing strategy).

This role will work cross-functionally with Site Merchandising, UX/Design, Product Management, Engineering, Walmart+, CRM, Brand Management, Performance Marketing, Data & Analytics and Customer/Member Insights, Finance, Strategy and others within our Marketing team to translate strategy into commercial wins and accelerate Walmart Business toward the team's aggressive long range growth plan. You will ensure that customers and members are at the forefront while mobilizing existing capabilities and championing new functionality to serve B2B and non-profit customers and members to generate short-term wins. This role will lead the operational efficiency of our membership business development, partnership, and marketing activity. This role will support all activity that involves the following: identifying new offer opportunities, doing diligence on differentiation and value to institutional customers and members, building business cases to present to leadership, and quickly executing commercial agreements to evaluate and learn new membership benefits and offers for B2B Walmart Business+ members.

What you'll bring...

  • You have experience developing new partnerships, loyalty & rewards programs, member benefits, compelling offers, and new services.

  • You have experience driving acquisition marketing and retention marketing and have some experience working with CRM platforms to execute email, mobile and social campaigns.

  • You have experience or deep interest in building a new business from the ground floor.

  • You have experience with improving efficiency of business operations.

  • You have ability to think big and act practically to go from concept to execution.

  • You have experience executing commercial contractual agreements with partner organizations.

  • You have strong storytelling abilities.

  • You have an insatiable desire to understand the evolving customer.

  • You are attuned to the competitive landscape and have a desire to stay up to date on what other companies are doing to serve our target customers and members.

  • You have experience working in cross-functional teams.

  • You are comfortable working in agile environments with product and engineering teams.

  • You have strong people and communication skills.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
