Walmart Senior Director, Software Engineering Chief Architect in Bentonville, Arkansas

What you'll do...

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Architect to join our organization. As the Chief Architect, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of Walmart Pharmacy's architectural vision and strategy. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to define and align technology solutions with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex architectural projects.

About Team:

Health & Wellness | Pharmacy team is the US & Puerto Rico Pharmacy of Walmart's Health & Wellness division. We work collaboratively with both technology and operations of our Pharmacy stores to enhance customer interactions and associate experience. We achieve this by equipping our team members, stores, and merchants with advanced technology. We assist customers in online purchasing of prescriptions and scheduling appointments for immunizations and a subset of treatable conditions.

What you will do:

Develop and maintain the Pharmacy architectural roadmap, ensuring it aligns with business goals and objectives. Lead and develop a team of technical and solution architects and technical professionals, providing guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with executive management, stakeholders, and business units to understand their requirements and translate them into architectural solutions. Conduct research and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance the company's technical capabilities. Develop and enforce architectural standards, frameworks, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all projects. Lead the evaluation and selection of technology vendors and partners, establishing strong relationships to support the company's technological needs. Oversee the design and development of complex systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define integration strategies and ensure seamless interoperability between different systems and applications. Conduct regular architectural reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and recommend appropriate actions. Provide technical leadership and guidance during the resolution of critical issues and system outages.

What you will bring:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  2. Proven experience (5 years) as a Chief Architect or in a similar leadership role within a technology-driven organization and experience (5 years) as a people manager.

  3. Extensive knowledge of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.

  4. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF.

  5. Expertise in cloud computing platforms, such as Azure or Google Cloud, and related technologies.

  6. Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Java, C#, or Python.

  7. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large-scale, complex architectural projects from conception to implementation.

  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to navigate complex technical challenges.

  10. Proven ability to effectively lead and motivate teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

HOBOKEN, New Jersey US-10279:The annual salary range for this position is $192,000.00-$384,000.00

SUNNYVALE, California US-04396:The annual salary range for this position is $208,000.00-$416,000.00

BENTONVILLE, Arkansas US-10467:The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
