What you'll do...

The Senior Director, Software Engineering Accounts Payable will provide leadership and strategic direction for the technology operations of our global Accounts Payable organization. This role involves overseeing timely and accurate payments for Walmart suppliers worldwide, managing a team of 150 associates, and ensuring excellence in engineering. The Senior Director will also focus on talent acquisition, retention, and development to drive growth and success in the organization.

What you'll do:

The Senior Director, Software Engineering Accounts Payable will play a pivotal role in overseeing the technology aspects of our Accounts Payable organization. This position requires a strong leader with expertise in software engineering, as well as a deep understanding of Accounts Payable processes. The Senior Director will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payments for all Walmart suppliers on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Strategy:
  • Lead a global team of 150 associates, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.

  • Set the strategy and direction for engineering excellence within the Accounts Payable organization.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with overall business goals.

  • Drive innovation, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and identify opportunities for process optimization.

  1. Technology Oversight:
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of software solutions to support Accounts Payable processes.

  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the technology infrastructure.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  1. Talent Management:
  • Attract, recruit, and retain top engineering talent, fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture.

  • Provide ongoing development and growth opportunities for team members. - Conduct performance evaluations, promote career development, and address performance issues when necessary.

Technology Innovation: Demonstrated ability to drive innovation within the Accounts Payable organization through the implementation of cutting-edge technologies, automation, and digital transformation initiatives. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement. Complex Problem-Solving: Proven track record of effectively identifying, analyzing, and solving complex problems related to Accounts Payable operations. Develop creative and strategic solutions to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and mitigate risks. System Architecture: Expertise in designing and implementing scalable and streamlined system architectures for Accounts Payable operations. Ability to evaluate existing systems, identify areas for improvement, and drive architectural changes to enhance performance and reliability. Legacy Technology Reduction: Experience in modernizing legacy technology systems and reducing technical debt within the Accounts Payable function. Develop and execute a roadmap for retiring outdated systems and migrating to more efficient and cost-effective solutions. Engineering Practices Advancement: Lead the development and implementation of best practices in software engineering, including agile methodologies, DevOps, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and quality assurance. Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement. Talent Management: Strong focus on attracting, growing, and retaining top engineering talent. Develop strategies for talent acquisition, mentorship programs, and career development to build a high-performing and motivated team. Culture of Innovation: Create an environment where associates are inspired to think creatively, take risks, and contribute to the organization's innovation initiatives. Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and learning to drive continuous innovation and growth.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and7 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2: 9 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

4 years' supervisory experience.
