Position Summary...

What you'll do...

Our Legal team ensures that as the company works to make good decisions for customers, those decisions are also lawful and ethical. We need experts to make sure our facilities follow all laws and regulations. More than that, we need to work together to make sure we operate according to our high ethical standards.

As Senior Counsel - EHS, you will collaborate with, and provide legal advice and guidance to EHS Compliance partners and other relevant legal, compliance, and business stakeholders regarding environmental, health and safety laws and regulations covering Walmart's U.S. operations.

What you'll do:

  • Provide Walmart with an informed understanding of legal obligations and risks regarding current and proposed environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations to allow informed decisions.

  • Collaborate with compliance and business stakeholders to develop, implement, monitor, and enhance environmental, health, and safety regulatory compliance programs.

  • Engaging, directing, and supervising outside counsel in the context of regulatory enforcement matters.

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience providing legal analysis and advice regarding the regulation of waste, water, air, hazardous materials, and other relevant environmental matters.

  • Broad experience providing legal analysis and advice regarding regulatory safety, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

  • Extensive experience interacting and managing regulatory enforcement matters at the local, state and/or federal level.

  • Curiosity and have a desire to fully understand the process and the facts.

  • You excel at providing clear and succinct advice in a way that brings others along.

  • Pride yourself on being responsive and helpful to clients, and you understand that attorneys are service providers.

  • Organization and can manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.

  • Enthusiasm for challenges and are ready to engage at Fortune 1 scale.
