Location : Bensenville, IL

Schedule: Monday-Friday (Hours to be specified)

Status: Full Time (Exempt)

Compensation: $60K

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the receiving department. The Receiving Supervisor is responsible for managing the flow of goods into the warehouse, ensuring accuracy in inventory, and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency by working closely with Team Leads to ensure all day-to-day operations are completed in correspondence with Company guidelines.

  • Prepares daily workloads based on Company needs and provides assigned or scheduled duties to Team Leads.

  • Conduct meetings with all members of the Receiving Department regarding the daily action plans.

  • Oversees unloading, unpacking, sorting, palletizing, and stocking of every inbound shipment upon receipt.

  • Scanning the floor daily and making sure all shipments have the correct color cones with updated paperwork.

  • Follows up with Team Leads and reporting personnel in efforts to maintain an efficient workflow based on Company metric guidelines.

  • Manage overhead to maximize productivity and minimize waste. (Utilizing the right number of employees that it should take to achieve company metrics and goals).

  • Ensure the Leads are keeping associates to the standards of the company SOP’s.

  • Tracks the status of goods and materials using the inventory control system.

  • Ensure all Safety Policies are being adhered to in the department.

  • Maintain operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

  • Completes incoming product inspection, confirmation of certificate of conformance, and reconciliation of receiving/purchase documentation.

  • Ensure Receiving Leads are trained and updated with new policies and procedures.

  • Confirm all instructions given to Team Leads via email/messages by other departments have been followed accordingly.

  • Assists in the maintenance of department supplies by checking stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating requirements, and placing orders on weekly basis.

  • Communicate with various departments to ensure customer satisfaction and streamlined operations.

  • Maintains high communication with administrative personnel to ensure that all team members are providing accurate and timely results.

  • Conducts regular audits of daily work completed to ensure accuracy.

  • Collaborates with other departments to research and resolve any issues related to inbound shipments/purchase orders.

  • Closely monitoring and investigating Inventory error emails and adjusting the purchase orders accordingly.

  • Assists in the creation of daily, weekly and monthly KPI reports.

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance within the Receiving Department.

  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

  • Responsible for the forklift certification within the department.

  • Responsible for getting up to date information on existing and new products by working closely with the Purchasing Department daily.

  • Handle employee concerns, issues, and disciplinary action including filling out incident reports or other relevant documentation and submitting it to Human Resources.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position manages all Receiving Associates, Coordinators, Trainers and Team Leads.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a warehouse environment where the noise level can be loud. The employee is frequently exposed to fast-moving carts and employees throughout the warehouse. Every employee must respect others by not swearing or playing loud music that could disturb others.

    Physical Demands

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday and hours to be specified.

    Travel

    Travel is expected for this position between all company warehouses.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply-chain management, or a related field. Intermediate computer skills and Microsoft Office experience. Experience with managing or supervising receiving departments in warehouse and exposure with inventory management systems and e-commerce platforms.
