Job Description

This position is for a Tool Runner who will pull orders and deliver supplies and tools to various construction sites in the local bay area. You will work inside an industrial warehouse, keeping inventory of tools and delivering them to construction sites. You will also use a computer for email communication and inventory tracking via Excel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tools to construction/job sites in a timely, professional, and efficient manner.

• Follow safety principles and use PPE when handling tools and on construction locations.

• Interact with customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

• Complete and perform side work and other duties as assigned, taking initiative.

• Operate a standard sit-down forklift to load heavy tools onto a truck.

• Pick and load orders onto trucks for delivery to construction sites.

• Communicate through email and print out picking orders.

Essential Skills

• Basic knowledge of tools and the ability to identify hand and power tools.

• Ability to operate a standard sit-down forklift.

• Proficiency in operating a computer for email communication and inventory tracking via Excel.

• Driving and loading/unloading trucks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to load and unload tools and supplies, lifting up to 50 lbs throughout the day.

• Willingness to get forklift certified (training provided).

• Familiarity with Outlook (training provided).

Work Environment

You will work in a large industrial warehouse where the rolling doors stay up, making it cold in the winter and hot in the summer. The job is physically demanding and requires resilience, as clothes may get dirty, and you will be delivering tools to construction sites. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with some flexibility for earlier shifts. Initial training includes time clock setup, forklift and PG&E training, PPE issue, and mentorship during the first week.
