GE Healthcare Staff Technical Project Manager in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

Responsible for wing-to-wing execution of improvement initiatives to deliver high quality outcomes to internal and/or external customers. This includes gathering and documenting requirements, building functional and technical specifications and overseeing build/test/deploy/training milestones to drive internal project delivery.

Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the digital product setup and deployment within GEHC IT tool digital thread (including Software Manufacturing, Deployment and Product/Financial Traceability). Interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. As well as improving these standard practices and procedures.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

Work independently, at the same time collaborating with all other roles within the team to ensure project meets organizational standards and customer needs.

In this role, you will:

• Interact with internal and/or external customers and product managers to understand customer needs and timelines

• Collaborate with development and operations teams. Support them with scope considerations and project requirements

• Demonstrate increasing understanding of project management

• Demonstrate superior knowledge of software development life cycles to collaborate with Build and Release teams

• Ensure that releases meet quality standards and functional requirements

• Work with fellow team members and provide subject matter expertise to diagnose bugs and formulate solutions during testing cycles as well as during and after the project is deployed in production

• Show increasing understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product

• Demonstrate awareness of industry trends and domain expertise

• Demonstrate ability to influence customers and project managers through persuasion and influencing

  • Partner with business team to creatively identify, evaluate, implement, and improve technologies and processes. Arriving at mutual, cost-effective solutions utilizing Lean and Agile principles focusing on Manufacturing Delivery, Traceability and Deployment .

  • Create and update standard work , including training content, to support transactional success of digital solutions. Specifically focused on product setup within GEHC IT tools to enable transactions (financial, delivery, traceability, etc).

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers ; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance.

  • Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.

  • Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems . May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.

  • Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy including process tracking, metrics tracking

Education Qualification

  • 8+ Years of experience in project management

  • Collaborate with business and functional partners and technology leadership in specifying requirements

  • Drive technology discussion and strategy in line with business needs

  • Define execution plan and approach based on project scope, expected timeline and available budget/resources

  • Facilitate convergence of functional and technical knowledge and build project teams

  • Manage external vendors as required

  • Ensure pre-defined project management processes and practices are followed. Drive simplification and improvement as necessary

  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required

  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting

  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations

  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected

  • Evangelizes how our technology solves customer problems from a technology and business perspective

  • Experience in customer engagement to facilitate requirements

  • Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks

  • Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience

  • Has initiative to stay current on technology trends

  • Demonstrates the initiative to explore alternate technology and approaches to solving problems

  • Skilled in breaking down problems, documenting problem statements and estimating efforts

  • Has the ability to analyze impact of technology choices

  • Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team

  • Shares knowledge, power, and credit, establishing trust, credibility, and goodwill

  • Able to work well with global teams, including time-zone flexibility

  • Ability to take ownership of tasks

  • Ensures understanding of issues and presents clear rationale

  • Continuously measures deliverables of self and team against scheduled commitments
