GE Aerospace Staff Engineer: Mechanical Component in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

As a staff engineer, you will provide technical leadership while owning hardware on GE90/GP FAN module. In this role, you will be responsible to maintain part for the life cycle of the engine including aspects on solving new make issues, field issue resolution, RCA, TOPS8D, QEM, Repair, and cost reduction. you will manage field issues, lead service’s contract profitability, and deliver solutions that meet business needs within functional area(s) of expertise

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the design, analysis, test or integration of Fan structure hardware for GE90/GP program using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements

  • Be the first point of contact from LCE on any query from sourcing/supplier/fleet/repair/customer

  • Lead and execute on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

  • Lead and support product Key Performance Indicator (KPI) to identify leading indicators and opportunities for Continuous Improvement

  • Should execute & technically mentor other engineers in team on LCE aspects to meet the program objectives.

  • Should network & establish strong connections with Commodity CTHs, Cross functions teams viz. Shop, SC, Repair, MAE, CTPs and Shop technical teams to achieve the desired outcomes for module

  • Should lead RCA investigations for the field events / distress and prepare action / field plan in collaboration with module teams and led the Systems Tech Reviews and PCB reviews to get it approved

  • Demonstrate clear thinking, strong technical articulation, manage handoffs between different organizations.

  • Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules, and customer commitments.

  • Demonstrate collaborative work style and team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externally

  • Leverage digital tools & analyze the data insights to drive appropriate actions viz. on ESM limit extensions, producibility improvements, etc.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelors/ Master’s Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery Engineering position (design, analysis, systems, services)

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results while working on multiple projects simultaneously, balancing timing and quality of outcomes

  • Ability to manage priority tradeoffs to optimize program deliveries

  • Deep Functional Expertise in relevant engineering discipline and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally
