Why this job matters

We are seeking a highly skilled Integration Engineering Specialist to join our team to lead on the delivery of a new Integration platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust integration solutions. Your expertise in Integration platforms, cloud technologies, and automation will drive seamless data flow, enhance system interoperability, and optimize business processes.

What you’ll be doing

Integration Solution Architecture:

• Lead teams designing and building Integration platforms for BT.

• Collaborate with architects and business stakeholders to design scalable and efficient integration solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications

Development and Implementation:

• Provide leadership for teams developing, testing, and deploy integration workflows, APIs, and connectors.

• Ensure data consistency, security, and compliance across integrated systems.

• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues promptly.

CI/CD and Automation:

• Lead on implementation CI/CD pipelines for middleware and packaged applications using BT chosen tool sets.

• Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling processes.

• Optimize performance and reduce errors through automation.

Collaboration and Mentoring:

• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and business users.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Mandatory - 5+ years of hands-on experience in integration technology

• Mandatory - 5+ years of experience in directly leading teams building integration solutions.

• Mandatory - Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools (Jenkins, Git, etc.).

• Mandatory - Experience in RESTful API design and implementation.

• Mandatory - Experience working with service buses, gateways and API Management platforms.

• Mandatory - Proficiency in Java.

• Mandatory - Full-stack development experience (pref. Angular/React with SpringBoot Microservices)

• Mandatory - Security Knowledge (Authentication and Authorisation)

• Mandatory - Cloud administration skills (AWS, Azure, GCP).

• Mandatory - Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Mandatory - Scripting expertise (Javascript, Typescript, Python, Shell, Groovy, etc.).

• Desirable - Cloud certifications

• Desirable - Software development experience using LLMs or AI.

• Mandatory - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Mandatory - Analytical mindset to troubleshoot complex integration challenges.

• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving technologies.
