About the Role

• You’ll be working within the Digital SDK teams which spans globally. This group is responsible for building our SDKs for content measurement as part of Nielsen’s Audience Measurement. Your specific team will be responsible to build services and UIs to support our complex entitlement needs for our current and future web applications.As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for the system to work behind the scenes. Your role will be to integrate the application with all required systems and services and provide clean and easy to use API for the frontend part of the system.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with frontend developers to design and develop functional, robust APIs to support internal and customer needsWrite both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasksDevelop high quality, well documented, and efficient code Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloudOptimize internal and external applications for performance and scalabilityDevelop automated tests to ensure business needs are met, and write both unit and integration testsCommunicate regularly with stakeholders, project managers, quality assurance teams, and other developers regarding progress on long-term technology roadmapRecommend systems solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchased alternatives

Key skills

• Domain Expertise 8+ years of experience developing software5-7 years of experience as a backend developer working with Java2+ years of experience developing with Javascript or NodejsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science Technical Skills Strong understanding of fundamentals of computer science and engineeringProficient in developing backend systems and servicesProficient with AWSProficient in deploying and manipulating systems on Windows and LinuxExperience with database systems, with knowledge of SQLAbility to write effective unit, integration, and API testsPlus: knowledge of immutable infrastructure, infrastructure automation and provisioning tools Mindset and attributes Strong communication skills with ability to communicate complex technical concepts and align organization on decisionsSound problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly process complex information and present it clearly and simplyUtilizes team collaboration to create innovative solutions efficiently
