Google Software Engineer, Pixel Watch System Software in Bengaluru, India

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

  • 3 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

  • Experience working with mobile development, Unix/Linux environments, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, networking, developing software systems, security software development or embedded systems development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Experience working with embedded processors, Linux kernel, drivers, BSP.

  • Experience with performance analysis and optimization in the domains of embedded systems.

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: Microcontrollers, SoC, device drivers, hardware bringup, power management, ARM processors, file systems, bootloaders, firmware, or hardware/software integration.

With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.

In this role, you will work on the next-generation of Pixel Watch devices, help build the system software that goes into all our devices. You will work across functions and product area boundaries and silicon vendors to support all aspects of Board Support Package (BSP)/Kernel/Storage and the related product software stack to ship products. You will support integration across all products, work closely with Product, UX, UXR, and other Engineering teams.

  • Develop software for the wearable system software team, working on both next-generation and legacy products.

  • Design, develop and support the Pixel Watch system software, including contributing to BSP/kernel/storage, new board/IP bring-up, thermal, charging and working with silicon vendor teams.

  • Find solutions to problems while making a product worth launching, pay close attention to user journeys and experiences.

  • Focus on power, performance, or battery life and overall software quality and stability.
