We are Data Intelligent Platform unit building a new unified service, where governance is a key feature. We have a product offering as OCI Data Catalog service, which is a key strategic service among Data Inteligent Platform services, it is a metadata management service that helps data consumers discover data and improve governance in the Oracle ecosystem. Data consumers can easily assess the suitability of data for analytics and data science projects.

Your Opportunity

You will be responsible for applying your extensive knowledge of software architecture and user experience to architect, develop and design highly performant and maintainable full stack java/JEE based applications and services on OCI.

Your technical skills will be very critical to our service in making. You will be involved in competitive analysis discussions, market segment understanding and will be encouraged to provide thought leadership to drive the next generation products and architecture.

We are currently looking for a highly motivated engineering leader who has a broad range of experience in cloud computing, software development, deployment and DevOps, as well as understanding of how enterprise grade IT infrastructure works. This person would be involved in architecture, design, prototype and development of the various aspects of Data Intelgence platform service on OCI.

You will be responsible for applying your extensive knowledge of software engineering and user experience to develop and design highly performant and maintainable full-stack java/JEE-based applications and services on OCI.

Your Responsibilities

As an integral part of the Data Intelligent platform development team you will be responsible for the following –

• Help drive the next-generation Data Services, with a focus on micro services; using Oracle standard tools, technology and development practices

• Drive one or more complex areas and do a detailed design of some components.

• Working directly with architects to ensure newer capabilities are built by applying right design principles

• Working with remote and geographically distributed teams to enable building the right products, using the right building blocks and making them consumable by other products easily

• Be very technically hands-on and own/drive key end-to-end product/services

Your Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent related fields.

• Excellent coding and design skills in Java and related technologies.

• Core Java, JEE, Rest, Spring, Hibernate/eclipse link, JDBC, Microservices, Docker/ Kubernetes, Springboot

Optional Exposure to Apache Spark, Kafka, Storm, Redis, Hadoop, Zookeeper.

• Prior experience building cloud services.

• Familiar with Java open-source and API standards.

• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills.

• Ability to quickly learn new technologies in a dynamic environment.

• Good organization, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Familiarity with the Agile process will be an added advantage.

• Prior experience in the Data Services domain would be an added advantage.

• Knowledge of the Cloud will be an added advantage.

• 10+ years in software development.

Responsibilities

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
