Oracle Cerner is growing and currently looking for an IC3 – Senior Software Engineer for their Cloud Engineering group. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be assigned to a specific software product solution. Your responsibilities will be requirement gathering, design and development of custom products in the technologies related to Java, Terraform, any one of the Cloud offerings like AWS, Azure, OCI, and GCP. In this role, you will be participating in the full development life cycle of software solutions including designing, testing, fixing, and documenting. You will be encouraged to implement designs by applying development languages and tools as per design specifications, routine review of solutions, suggest aesthetic improvements and participate in project-related sessions such as code reviews and project status meetings. As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Responsibilities

Basic Qualifications:

• 4 years of higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including a Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, SE, CIS, IT or IS or related field, or equivalent meaningful work experience.

• 4 to 8 years of software engineering relevant work experience

• Proficient with one of the Cloud Services – AWS, Azure, OCI or GCP. Strong understanding and working knowledge of networking and security principles in any Cloud service.

• Excellent coding & scripting skills in Java, Terraform and exposure to Cloud SDK.

• Deep expertise & knowledge in implementing CI (Continuous Integration) and CD (Continuous Deployment) methodologies on Container-Based Environments

• Hands-on experience in Unix Shell and MS PowerShell scripting.

• Support and Fix Cloud Deployment and Environment Issues

• Experience in documenting processes, runbook procedures and with source control tools such as GIT/GitHub/SVN.

• Participate in code reviews and identify moderate issues or deviations from standard methodologies.

• Be an architect material who would own the entire solution design, development, testing and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of frameworks such as Django and Flask are a plus.

• Understanding of common dev/test approaches and concepts, Agile/Lean development practices and the software development lifecycle

• Good understanding of RESTful architecture

• Experience with build systems and source code management (GIT)

• Working experience within a Windows, Linux and OS X-based environment

• Solid understanding of relational DB's (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) & non-relational DBs (MongoDB) is a plus
